No right is more precious in a free country than that of having a voice in the election of those who make the laws under which, as good citizens, we must live. Other rights, even the most basic, are illusory if the right to vote is undermined.

aww he's just jealous

The Dems were cheering when it was our side. From Salon:
With last night’s cheerfully vicious speeches from Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin, the Republicans did what they always do in order to win elections: they exploited raw cultural divides while mocking, belittling and demonizing Democratic leaders. Yet again, they delivered brutally effective and deeply personal blows to the Democratic presidential candidate grounded in the same manipulative and deceitful yet very potent themes they’ve been using for the last three decades.
Because Democrats would never exploit raw cultural divides.

Or mock, belittle, or demean the other side.

Only those God-damned evil spawn Republicans and their nasty, Southern, "white people" friends would do that.
Cultural tribalism and personality attacks of those sort work,
hmm...doesn't seem to be working too well for Obama right now....*
These “character” issues end up mattering largely because Democrats, in election after election, allow wars over “character” to be waged in a largely one-sided fashion.
Another liberal too busy being righteously enraged to actually pay attention to how people really feel - or what motivates them.

I'm losing patience with this type of gasbag speaking on behalf of those "dumb" Americans who "fall for" cheap tricks. If you want to win, shut up and listen for a change. (Idiots don't even know what "character" means - let alone why people respond to it!)

Can it be true? Are the Dems really too incompetent to govern even a dirty election?

* or is the liberal tribe going to pull together and vote loyalty over principle, in the end? Time will tell (after all, if you don't vote for Obama what sort of person does that make you?....)
