No right is more precious in a free country than that of having a voice in the election of those who make the laws under which, as good citizens, we must live. Other rights, even the most basic, are illusory if the right to vote is undermined.

today's steaming pile of media narrative: Salon

From Salon*:
For the true Hillary holdouts, the handful of so-called PUMAs who spent this week jawing about how they were going to vote for John McCain, these antiwoman stances aren't likely to make a dent. These agitators will not consider that picking Palin, a politician with only a few years of experience, is a pandering and condescending sop toward them, one that suggests that by dint of her gender alone, Palin could stand in for Clinton, who spent years being fire-forged for her place in history. Then again, after a week in which Clinton did everything short of standing on her head and humming the Battle Hymn of the Republic to get women fired up and ready to go for Obama...
Spoils of war.

Hillary gave us to Obama fair and square so we should just vote the way our candidate told us to**.

Germany won Alsace-Lorraine fair and square, so the actual residents of those regions should stop speaking French, start speaking German, and who cares what they speak anyway because they should just STFU.

* "Hillary holdouts".... - of course, there aren't many of them, and nobody really cares about them anyway - because they're statistically insignificant - really, the whole party just adores Obama now. We're all unified! Any proof that you see that UNITY! isn't real - well those are just agitators. Probably Republicans. Don't mind them. We really are unified. Really. Obama has a 100% approval rating. Did I mention that there aren't many of them? And that they're insignificant? And that there aren't many of them?

** Or else maybe they'll bitch-slap the candidate again, and we'll have to watch. So just STFU and get into line. Because part of being Democrat is understanding that only Democrats know how to treat women right.

After all, just look at the relative job opportunities Democrats give their women, compared to those GOP who do not believe in allowing a woman to work.
