If the election remains close, the next president could very well be picked by what Chris Lehane, a Democratic strategist, calls “Wal-Mart Moms” — white working women with children living in the exurbs and in rural parts of battleground states, who may make up a swing sliver of the electorate. Now there's a good reason to vote Republican.
I dunno about anyone else, but I don't want to be a....
...Wal-Mart mom??!!!???
I would imagine most women would do darn near anything to avoid being tagged with that one.
Especially those who actually shop at Wal-Mart.
Once more, the Dems smack down women. Nice going, guys!
.....meanwhile I'm off to buy me some hockey gear. I don't particularly care if I don't have a son who wants to play the damned game.....
update: it's been picked up! Nooooooooooooooooooo! William Kristol:
McCain didn’t just pick a politician who could appeal to Wal-Mart Moms. He picked a Wal-Mart Mom. Indeed, he picked someone who, in 1999, as Wasilla mayor, presided over a wedding of two Wal-Mart associates at the local Wal-Mart. “It was so sweet,” said Palin, according to The Anchorage Daily News. “It was so Wasilla.”_______________________________________________
oh and p.s. while we're being clueless:
“The real issue is whether soft Democrats and soft Republicans with a similar demographic profile, like white working women, will vote their economic self-interest and support Obama or whether McCain-Palin will be able to scare them away,” said Mr. Lehane, who was an adviser on the Gore campaign in 2000.For working women, seeing a working mom in the White House is self-interest. Voting for the party that sabotaged and trashed and violated Hillary Clinton is not.
Find a new line for yourself. That one about self-interest is all used up.
